*President Museveni Kicks Off Final Leg of PDM Tour in Kampala*

President Yoweri Museveni has begun the final phase of his nationwide Parish Development Model (PDM) tour in Kampala, marking a significant milestone in the government's efforts to boost wealth creation and economic empowerment. The PDM initiative aims to transition 39% of Uganda's households from subsistence to the money economy by providing resources and training at the parish level.

*Commissioning Busega Market*

Today, July 14, 2025, President Museveni officially commissioned the newly constructed Busega Central Market in Rubaga Division, a key infrastructure project designed to decongest city markets and enhance trade opportunities for urban vendors. This event marked the beginning of the President's week-long engagement with Kampala residents, focusing on urban wealth creation, poverty reduction, and enterprise-led development ¹ ².

*Engagements with City Residents*

Throughout the tour, President Museveni will meet with city leaders, market vendors, traders' associations, youth groups, and the media to discuss how PDM structures can address urban poverty, unemployment, and promote enterprise-led development. The President will also inspect model projects and engage with beneficiaries to assess the impact and implementation of the PDM ².

*PDM Implementation and Impact*

The PDM has been instrumental in promoting commercial agriculture, value addition, and responsible financial management. President Museveni has emphasized the importance of robust monitoring mechanisms, transparency, and accountability in PDM activities. He has also urged citizens to elect leaders who can work closely with the government to ensure the success of development programs ³.

*Final Rally at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds*

The week-long tour will culminate in a public rally at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds on Sunday, July 20, 2025, open to the general public. This event marks the conclusion of President Museveni's nationwide wealth creation campaign, which has seen him traverse various regions promoting enterprise, value addition, and household income improvement ².
